Ronnie was always a great inspiration and offered great encouragement to his teammates....even us "younger guys"..... Great personality, great humor, friend to all, and good prankster........What's not to love?  I offer condolences to the Gag's family as I am sure he was as great a Dad and partner to them as he was to all of us.  I look forward to meeting up again down the road Pal.

Well this was sad to read ... I remember Ron Gaglione and Ron Kilgallen so well ... the two Ronnie's .. could not say one without the other. It is a loss to each one of us to hear that someone you shared a childhood with and such memories we each hold dear from THS. Sending thoughts of comfort to his family. Blessings

Ron was the first student I met when I transferred into THS in Oct. 1960.  Mr. Gunner had him show me and my sister where our lockers and classrooms were located.  He was always a good friend for the time I spent in Teaneck.  A great place with a great bunch of kids: wish I had been there longer.  Will always remember his kindness. RIP, God Bless.   Rich

I'm not sure why Ron's passing hit closer to home than others who have gone before him from our great class but it has. Probably because I had so much respect for him as an athlete and natural leader on the football and baseball fields. Always gave 100%, was a natural leader and relied upon by Coaches Gunner and Cervino to motivate the team. My deepest sympathies to those he leaves behind. Ron, may the sun always be shining upon you.

Ron deserves all the accolades he's been getting. He was a great athlete and a very special person. Back when we were invited to add photos to our profiles I chose 2 from our Junior Ivy League days. My favorite is the one where Ron is about to tackle me. Our group photo has Kevin Tansey, Tony Tororella, Billy Schneelock, Joe Del Grande, and more. I'm in the upper right hand corner. I went there today to see Ron in action again. It got to me.

Thanks Mike for starting this thread sharing memories about Ron. I sent the following to Mike and a few others and decided to post for all:

Thanks Mike. I connected with Ron through Facebook several years ago before he lost his faculties through Alzheimer's. All seemed good with him at the time. A couple of years ago a guy was trimming my trees and I was impressed with his ability to scramble up and down a tree. I was reminded that Gags had become a tree surgeon and told my guy that Ron was one of the best natural athletes I had ever known. And along with the physical part came a mental quickness for making the right decision.
I'm not remembering the mound discussion about a girl's female part (what's so hard about pronouncing "belly button"?), but I will never forget that Ron informed me that girls shit ice cream, and to this day I pass this on to those who I think should know.

Laurie's mentioning the 2 Ron's reminds me of the days long ago when we were in Washington Irving and how way back then they were inseparable so it seemed. Seeing mention that Ron suffered from Alzheimer's makes me so sad.  Our roads took different directions after elementary school but I so clearly remember both so fondly.  Rest in peace.

Ron was a great leader on the field. I experienced his leadership on both the football and baseball fields. Such a great natural athelete, which I wasn't! I too remember him as being inseparable with Ron Kilgallon, whom I played next to on the line in football. Sad to hear of the quiet terror of Alzheimers!  Glad you're at peace now, Ron, and NO MORE PAIN!!
