Alan and I had a study hall together in 11th or 12th grade? It was in one of the music classrooms and with fifthteen minutes left the proctor allowed Alan to play the piano. He took requests and played every song by memory.....Amazing! Rock on in heaven Alan.
I was not one of the fortunate ones to know Alan personally, but I do remember that assembly when he did 'Great Balls of Fire" and went crazy just like Jerry Lee Lewis. Wish I had known you better Alan. I'm still learning about opening up without judging.
I remember Alan from elementary school. He wrote the school song.."L O W E L L Lowell School best in Teaneck". Ooops can't remember the rest. It's amazing I remember that he wrote it when he was probably only 9 -10 years old.and I sing the first line everytime I meet someone or talk about Lowell. I wonder if they still sing it today. I offer my condolences to Alan's family.
William (Bill) Strong
I remember Alan as a very nice guy who loved rock 'n roll and was a fine piano player. He cut a 45 with "Flip Over You" as the A-side. RIP.
